Blobular activity centre 3
Blobular activity centre 2

Continuing the blobby theme into plasticene. I've long had this idea
for alternative shaped brick/indivdidual structural components for
long time and I'm curious about the resulting architecture.
It's early doors but gradually I intend to expand these concepts.
I have a strong interest in organic forms/shapes in general and
Also avant garde architecture in general. Boxes seem so limited.
Foggy night

These pics were taken last winter at 2am in Paddington, Brisbane and
this fog came in out of nowhere in a sub tropical city in summer.
Being from London, which is historically known for its fog, I would not
usually associate Oz with fog. This was another wierd little 'travel surprise
especially in Brisbane. Very Twin Peaks.
I'm proud to admit that the top image of the traffic light was published
as a runner up to 'pic of the month' in an August edition of TNT mag here in Oz.
It's the first time any work of mine has been published.
Onwards and upwards Sparky!
One man's crap is another man's gold

I love a good rummage through 'dead peoples clothes' as I like to ponder.
We have been around countless second hand places in around the Brisbane area.
I can say I am really overthe experience now because going on quests for guys
clothes is a drearily futile endeavour.
The average second hand shop is awash with endless rows of depressingly
bland throwouts - high street branded BIG W/TARGET mass produced tat et al.
With so much new wealth coming into the area, it's frustrating that there isn't
more good stuff out there. At least give me the option of a really
nasty shirt, or a top stylee b.o ridden suit jacket? Nope.
The old ladies like the man behind the curtain in the Wizard of OZ are
like a form of 'taste' police. Anything over a certain age is deemed unworthy
- halt that action now purple hair lady.
Anyway, one of the by products of these searches has personally yielded a
rich vein of interest in the form of BLANK cassette covers/inlay designs.
Efficient, almost brutal graphics.
These are some classics in there and not only that, there's a backround
story reflecting individual sounds of choice - plus where you find them
dictates a loose musical geographical demographic. Needless to say
the OPUS FE 60 cassette (bottom right)was rescued from an odd shop
inCoolangata, Gold Coast.
SIDE B: PLATTERS ...? and - wait for it - SIDE A: BILLY OCEAN.
How can you argue with quality like that?

I have continued my sketches here in Oz.
There no real concepts as such, just - stuff, well more
interwoven structural exercises really. I like the idea
of very ornate/crafted with a fresh perspective.
Thinking about turning them into repeat patterns for
silkscreen one day.
Media: Ink pen, biro, pencil. Took ages to design and draw.
I like the rediculousness of it all.
Leading from the rear
